At certain set points the temperature Thermal Switch get activated thus gives signal to the control system. Some switches gives the signal at both set & reset point hence the total controlling og heating & cooling system done by the temperature switch.They are of normally open type & with the rise in temperature gives nc signal.Manual reset type of thermostat switches has the button over it for resisting purpose.
